Library and Archives Canada has released the 1921 Canada Census! The census can be accessed for free at Ancestry.ca. Here is the link: http://ancstry.me/13RdjSG
What you need to know:
- The 1921 Canada Census images will be free to browse on Ancestry.ca.
- A nominal index is being created by Ancestry.ca and should be released within the next two-three months. You will need a subscription to Ancestry.ca or have a worldwide subscription at any of the other Ancestry databases to access the index (when available.)
- You can browse the images by geographic location. Having an idea of where your ancestor may have lived in 1921 will help pinpoint where to start looking in the images.
- Currently, you cannot save a 1921 Canada census image to your computer from the Ancestry website. Instead, you can add a weblink to your ancestor's profile page if your family tree is posted on Ancestry.
