When the Archives of Ontario relocated from its location on Grenville Street in Toronto to its current location on the campus of York University a few years ago, the hours open to the public were greatly reduced.
The genealogy community in Ontario was greatly upset at the reduced hours. Petitions were sent to the Archives to reconsider their extended hours.
This evening I received an email announcing that the Archives has released an announcement on their website. They are extending their hours beginning February 8, 2011 on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 8 pm. And, the best part is they will be open (once again) on Saturdays!
This is terrific news.
